New research demonstrates that resveratrol might provide protection against brain damage following a stroke. Scientists induced an ischemic stroke in mice by cutting off the blood supply to the brain two hours after feeding them with a modest dose of resveratrol. They found that those animals who had ingested the resveratrol suffered significantly less brain damage than those who had not received it.
